When you ask for something, you may not always get it the way you thought you would. It's like when you ask some one a question expecting an answer that you want to hear, it just doesn't happen!
So, I was talking with Dez about how we really needed a new computer, especially with the new online hypnotherapy that I'm doing. After looking online at new computers, I was stunned to find out how "in the past" our computer is. Our computer has 40GB hard drive, where as, the lowest amount that the new computers had were 160GB. Hello!
So any how, I had my eye set on a new Dell with 500GB and video capabilities for editing our shows.
I've also been toying with selling our giganto 61" TV and had even listed it on Craigslist. I've never really been into TV and have found the times that I don't have one are the times I become more creative and get more done. - Not to mention, this TV is just darn huge - my husband wanted it, of course!
Well, I was getting interest from Criagslist for our TV. I had my sights on a new computer and no cash to get it. What's a girl to do?
Then, one evening, a couple weeks ago now, we had a storm come through in the afternoon. I was even on the phone to a girlfriend of mine and told her I should probably get off of the cordless before I get zapped by lightning. No kidding, about 2 minutes after getting off of the phone with her, we had a crack of lightning come down in our yard. I honestly thought the house was hit and went to check.
The power stayed on and everything was fine.
SIGH! You know how they say lightning strikes twice in the same spot? It's true. That is exactly what happened. I swear it was the same exact spot, only this time, everything wasn't fine.
I had just turned on the TV for the kids. Literally, 3 minutes later, the second bolt cracked down and blew out the TV. And it was only 8 weeks prior to this event that we were talking to an electrician family member of ours who said we should "get that thing on a power surge protector". UGH!
When I checked my computer, all seemed well - until I had to reboot it and it wouldn't reboot.
So to make a long story shorter, I'll be getting my new computer and I got rid of the TV! Thanks Universe!
It wasn't exactly what I expected, but things come to me in weird ways most of the time and how I least expect it. I only hope that I will be able to retrieve the information from my computer. Not only do I have all of my business documents in there, but I have nearly every picture we've ever taken since my first son was born six years ago!
I have to say, I'm very excited for the new computer and looking forward to getting some work done at a fast and more convenient pace!
P.S. When looking for a data-retrieval company I came across a business in Minneapolis called 'Strike Twice Computer Repair' - how amazing is that???

Fluctuating Energy
I've just realized lately (over the last year) that my energy has been increasingly fluctuating back and forth. I know that people have their good days and bad days, but this seems to be more than that, as I realize a pattern. Hindsight is always 20/20.
I feel like it's a shift going on. I know it's my own shift because I'm living in it and dealing with experiencing it, but I wonder if this is part of the collective shift that is taking place. I wonder if everyone (or nearly everyone) is experiencing similar events in their lives.
I have this tug of war-ish thing going where I'm following and walking the path I want to be on, but then I'll bounce back to old habits. The time between these two events seems to be shortening, though the back and forth seems to happen every other day now. Maybe my life is shifting to what I've been working toward. Although nothing is ever definitively noticeable because it flows together so seamlessly. But I know I'll know it when I see it! - Hindsight!
I've also noticed that I've been 'high' and then 'low' more frequently. One day I know that I'm heading toward my fabulous destiny without a doubt, then the next day I'm feeling totally helpless, doubtful and unsure. Every day the gap seems to be closing.
One year ago we moved back to Minnesota from Scottsdale, Arizona. We lived in Arizona for eight years. Minnesota was a wonderful change, but I think it became a great shock to me. #1 - Because it is so much more grounding and heavier than Arizona. Arizona is very airy and full of constant changing energy, people coming and going and it's still such a new area. Minnesota is more established, green, luscious and also filled with people who are more established, both in their roots and their mindset.
#2 Originally from Minnesota, nearly all of my family and friends were here. That was part of the reason for moving back, but I found that the gravitational pull of my past has been very forceful. It wasn't easy for me to just plop back in MN and still have my AZ energy. I've come face to face with my old self, habits, friends, places, etc. I'm coming around again, but it's been a journey, especially when you're surrounded by people who are soooo grounded in this heavy vibration.
I'm wondering if others have had this same flip-flop over the last year; a sense of something just around the corner or shifting in their lives.

Something to Ponder - from Dez
There are more perceptions to perceive than there are perceivable perceptions.

Menards Quotes
If you happen to be from Minnesota where I live, then you probably get a Menards catalog in your mail every once in a while. Of all places, I found some interesting quotes in small print at the bottom of the pages of their catalog.
The following are my favorites:
"A person never discloses their character so clearly as when they describe another's."
"Ninety-nine percent of failures come from people who have the habit of making excuses."
"Nothing contributes more to a person's piece of mind than having no opinions at all."
"Tell everyone your business and they will do it for you."
"Nothing is either good or bad but by comparison."
"All art, all education, can be merely a supplement to nature."
"There's no one like discipline to expose all of our faults."
"One of the best ways to persuade others is with your ears."
"I will go any where provided it is forward."
If you are in the area to receive one of these catalogs, next time you get one, check out the quotes before you toss it to recycling. There are many more quotes that you may find interesting.

Consider the Possibility
This is a list that I received some where along the way in one of my classes as a topic of discussion at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts in Arizona.
I really like this one and want to share it with you. It gives one something to ponder about ourselves and how we perceive our world.
I do not know who the original author is, but if you have any information on that, please share it with me.
Consider the Possibility that…
1. People respond to their experiences, not to reality itself.
2. Having a choice is better than not having a choice.
3. People make the best choice they can at the time.
4. People work perfectly.
5. All actions have a purpose.
6. Every behavior has a positive intention.
7. The unconscious mind balances the conscious, it is not malicious.
8. The meaning of communication is not simply what you intend, but also the responses you get.
9. We already have all the resources we need or we can create them.
10. Mind & body form a system. They are different expressions of the one person.
11. We process all information through our senses.
12. Modeling successful performance leads to excellence.
13. If you want to understand, act.
